SameWay is operated by Sentrixa Systems Ltd (Company No. 17385810). You can delete your SameWay account at any time, and you do not need to contact us to do it.

Delete your account from the app

  1. Open the SameWay app and sign in.
  2. Go to Profile → Delete account.
  3. Tap Send code. We text a 6-digit code to the mobile number verified on your account. This confirms it is really you, so that someone who picks up an unlocked phone cannot delete your account with a single tap.
  4. Enter the code and confirm.

Your account is closed immediately and you are signed out.

If you cannot access the app

Email info@same-way.co.uk from the address registered on your account and ask us to delete it. We will verify that the request is genuine and action it.

What is deleted

  • Your name, email address, password, date of birth and phone number
  • Your home address and any saved home or work locations
  • Your profile photo
  • Your vehicle details, including the registration plate
  • Your trusted contacts’ names and phone numbers
  • Any mobility, accessibility or medical notes you chose to add
  • Your saved preferences and notification settings

Live GPS position is never retained at all: only your most recent position is stored while a ride is actually in progress, it is overwritten on every update, and it is gone once the ride ends.

What is kept, and why

Deleting your account anonymises your past activity rather than erasing it outright. Rides, bookings and ratings involve other people, and removing your half of a shared journey would corrupt their record of it.

The following are therefore retained, with every identifying detail stripped and no longer linked to you:

  • Completed ride and booking records belonging to other members
  • Ratings and reviews you left about other members
  • Anonymised totals such as CO2 saved, used only for aggregate statistics

We may also keep a limited record for longer where we are required to, for example to resolve an open safety report or to meet a legal obligation. Where that applies we keep only what is necessary for that specific purpose, and delete it once the purpose ends.
